Müpa (originally Művészetek Palotája: Palace of Arts) opened in 2005 opposite of National Theatre on the Pest side of Rákóczi Bridge. Externally it is characterized by simple lines and large glass surfaces while the interior is dominated by a selection of natural materials. It is a multifunctional cultural facility including three institutions:

Béla Bartók National Concert Hall

It has a capacity of 1656 seats. The depth of the podium is adjustable and the front stage when lowered may function as an orchestra pit. The hall has special acoustic properties ranked among the highest in Europe. The 42-ton canopy suspended overhead, the movable resonance chambers and the special wall and floor coverings all allow for fine-tuning. Even the reliefs of the auditorium contribute to outstanding sound quality. Together with the custom-made pipe organ these features make this hall one of the most reputable concert venues. It also home to the renowned National Philharmonic Orchestra, Choir and Music Library.

They offer interactive show rooms, a media corner, a library and a kid’s corner also..
