Crafty Hands Program (basketry and Gingerbread Decoration)

A local product program takes about 1.5 hours, the trip can be organized as a family program, but we also recommend class excursions to those students who want to test their skills. The program can also be organized as a holiday preparation for Easter and Christmas.
Program
Lenti (starting point from railway)
The small railway network of Csömödér State Forest Railway is the largest in Hungary, with a total length of more than 100 kilometres. In the train station, 1 hour before departure, participants can try the basics of basketry, Margit Dulics taught generations in Lenti and its surroundings to the basics. During the demonstration, participants can prepare a plate dish. (about 30 minutes).
The journey from Lent to Csömödér is approx. 1 hour.
Csömödér - Csömödér Hostel
Csömödér village had borrowed its name from the railway. Here was the end of the forest railroad until 1999. After connecting this railway line with the forest railroad below, it became an intermediate station. Next to the railway station is Zalaerdő Zrt. Tourist hostel (gingerbread program location).
Gingerbread demonstration (about 1 -hour program)
Ildikó Kovács lives in Kerkafalva, produces handcrafted gingerbreads, honey pies and other confectionery products. In the program, two 10 cm gingerbread can be decorated (optional shapes: heart, flower with wand, magnets, pre-cast gingerbreads, for children animal-like shapes, decorating with writing frosting, for children sugars, edible beads, etc. First introduction to basic techniques, practice on template, a brief history of gingerbread, secret of the good gingerbread, secret of the good writing frosting, while a gingerbread and pudding tasting.
Basic program: basketry show and gingerbread decoration 3000 HUF (in 2018) + special train prize
